KIAC Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow      

  • Implementing sequential ensemble models to predict computationally expensive adjoint-based error estimator for expediting the metric-based mesh adaptation process.

  • Achieved error convergence for the ML predicted mesh over viscous subsonic flow with less than 1% error on drag coefficient compared to higher order simulation.

  • Investigating the feasibility of implementing physics-informed neural networks for prediction of adjoint solutions.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore  (08/23 - 06/24)                                                              

Project Associate I      

  • Extended the C-based Refine code for intersection of spalding law of the wall and mach based metrics for appropriate capturing of boundary layer with normal shocks.

  • Intersected mesh attained a reduction in heat flux error by 4% from experimental data for hypersonic reentry case.

  • Performed strong scaling analysis of the laboratory’s HPC cluster using exaFoam cases and contributed to resolving software and memory issues on the compute nodes.

SVURG Digital Systems and Solutions  (03/23 - 07/23)                                                              

Mechanical Engineering Intern       

  • Performed transient simulations on a patented wind turbine named Gurv.

  • Used Reynolds-Averaged Simulation with the SSt K-omega model and dynamic rotational meshing for multiple bodies.

  • Results demonstrated torque per swept area to be multiple times in comparison with the leading wind turbine manufacturers across the globe.

Research Intern

  • Undergraduate thesis on numerical investigation of droplet motion through constricted passage with application on drug-treated cancer cells traversing through micro capillaries, reminiscent of metastatic condition.

  • Used the Volume of Fluid (VOF) method and finite volume model along with Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) for numerical multiphase droplet flow simulations.

  • Identified variations in droplet velocity and aspect ratios for different configurations of channel constrictions and different phases of droplet bifurcation and fragmentation.
